With uncertainty about his long-term future at Manchester City, striker Carlos Tevez has hinted interest in a potential move to a competitive Ligue 1 in France.
The French league was won by Paris Saint-Germain a fortnight ago, but they became the fifth successive different winners of the championship since Lyon’s domination ended in 2009.
In a story reported by ESPN, the Argentine (pictured) has indicated of his interest in joining the new domestic champions, and also revealed he held talks with them previously.
Speaking to Telefoot, a French television station, he said: “There was interest from PSG for me, and we talked with Leonardo, but we could not reach an agreement, but it remains an interesting option as the French championship is moving very fast.
“If Leonardo called me, it’s not a problem for me to come, really no problem to come to Paris and France.”
This comes despite some uncertainty over who will coach PSG next year, with current boss Carlo Ancelotti asking to leave on Sunday, as Real Madrid prepares to approach him if Jose Mourinho makes his expected return to Chelsea.
AS Monaco, who recently were promoted back to the top division, and have strong financial backing is another destination that interests the former Corinthians striker.
Tevez continued: “For me, Monaco is one of the largest French clubs, and any player would go there. I have a one-year contract left at City and I am happy, and I love playing in the Premier League - but a project like Monaco I really like.”
The 2004 Champions League finalists have been linked with making moves for Falcao and Patrice Evra in recent weeks and have the ex-Valencia and Inter boss Claudio Ranieri in charge.
