Paul Lambert has revealed a block of Aston Villa’s kids will get new contracts, with higher wages if they stay in the Premier League, reports the Daily Star.

Star striker Christian Benteke (pictured), highly-rated right back Matthew Lowton, Ashley Westwood and Nathan Baker are poised for new deals if the objective criterion is met.

Survival looks more probable after Saturday's 2-1 victory at Carrow Road against Lambert’s old club, Norwich.

The Scot said: “There’s no point in doing that yet – we’ve got to get over the line.  That’s the thing.  We’ve still got goals to achieve but it is something at the end of the season that you would look at.”

The youngsters have found form at the right time of the campaign, and have only lost to Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United since the beginning of February.

The run that has seen the Villains climb away from danger was topped off by a 6-1 demolition of Sunderland last Monday.

With 18 goals in his debut season, Benteke is no doubt a prized asset, and Lambert knows he must keep the Belgian, especially with clubs such as Tottenham, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid all showing summer interest in the 22-year-old.

The Midlands side sit in 13th place with two games left to play.
