Another goalkeeper being targeted by Gunners

It has been no secret that Arsene Wenger is keen on acquiring a new goalkeeper for Arsenal next season, and he has set his sights on former German Under-21 international Sven Ulreich.

The Daily Mail says he is the current number one at VFB Stuttgart, and he impressed watching scouts last month during his side’s 2-1 victory over Freiburg.

The 24-year-old (pictured) made his first team debut in February 2008, and has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Bundesliga side.

Although he hasn’t been capped by the full German national side, he is highly rated in his homeland for a great career.

However, Stuttgart would demand a high transfer fee from interested parties, especially as Ulreich is contracted until June 2017.

Regular Gunners’ number one Wojciech Szczesny has underperformed this season, and even lost his regular spot for a month recently to Lukasz Fabianski.  Neither Fabianski, nor Vito Mannone have convinced Wenger who is keen to strengthen this summer.

Other keepers on the Londoners shopping list include Rene Adler, Pepe Reina and Julio Cesar.
