New Chelsea signing Andre Schurrle has spoken for the first time since finally being unveiled as a Blues player.

The Guardian says the German attacking midfielder is expecting regular trophy success under Jose Mourinho.

He moves to the club from Bayer Leverkusen for £18.7m, and has signed a five-year contract.

Schurrle told the club’s website: “I think we have a great team with some very talented young players.

“We can all improve ourselves, and under Jose Mourinho I’m confident we can have a really great season.”

Schurrle will wear the number 14 shirt (pictured) at Stamford Bridge, and although he will be counted as Mourinho’s first signing, this deal has been speculated for at least the past four months.

He also admitted he spoke to former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack to get some more insight about the club and working under Mourinho.

He added: “For this club, winning titles is always the main objective.  We have a great young team with so much quality.  We are capable of doing well in the Premier League, Champions League and the cup competitions as well, and I hope to play a big part.”
