Following promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has identified Amido Balde as his first summer target.

However, Sky Sports understands the Eagles will have to fight tooth and nail to sign the striker, with Celtic also seriously interested in securing his services.

Balde (pictured) has represented Portugal at Under-20 level and had been due to fly into Glasgow later this week for talks with the SPL champions, after a bid was accepted by his current club, Vitoria Guimaraes.

Balde scored nine goals in 27 league matches last season.  However, a move seems to have stalled, with Guimaraes still hopeful of landing a bigger price.

This has alerted Holloway, who will be keen to add to his firepower ahead of his second crack at the Barclays Premier League.

Wilfried Zaha has moved onto Manchester United, whilst last season’s Championship top scorer Glenn Murray is out injured for the foreseeable future, after damaging his knee in the play-off semi-final first leg against Brighton.
