The transfer battle to acquire Fiorentina’s star man Stevan Jovetic is hotting up. On Wednesday, the Daily Express reported Chelsea have lodged an interest to purchase the Montenegro attacker.
Jovetic (pictured) is likely to be leaving Florence this summer, and Fiorentina have slapped a £25m price tag on him, which is stalling a potential move to Arsenal.
It is no secret the Gunners are in the market for a new striker, and they were hoping to do a cut-price deal.
However, Chelsea now could be about to stump up the required cash Fiorentina are after. Like their London rivals, Chelsea are looking at striking options and are also keeping a close eye on the developments of Mario Gomez and his insecure future with Bayern Munich.
One of the world’s most deadly finishers and former Blues target Falcao completed his £51m switch to AS Monaco on Friday.
However, Jovetic also prefers the idea of staying in Italy and the former Partizan Belgrade frontman is also being monitored closely by Serie A champions Juventus.
