Baldini arranges Villa talks in Brazil

Newly appointed technical director of Tottenham, Franco Baldini will hold talks with Spanish international striker David Villa before the weekend is out, claims the Daily Mail.

Villa (pictured) has been used on a rotational basis by Barcelona ever since he broke his leg in Japan during the 2011 edition of the FIFA World Club Championship.

He was sidelined for eight months, missing Euro 2012 in the process and Spain’s record all-time international goalscorer is reportedly fed up of sitting on the sidelines behind colleague Pedro and Chilean Alexis Sanchez.

Baldini, who left AS Roma last week to take up a new post with the north Londoners will fly out to Brazil to hope to meet up with Villa, despite Spain’s continued participation in the Confederations Cup.

The Spaniards beat Italy on penalties in the second semi-final on Thursday night and will face the hosts in Sunday evening's final.

However, Villa was on the bench again as he sits behind Roberto Soldado and Fernando Torres in the pecking order for his country.

Andre Villas-Boas is keen on adding Villa to his striking roster.  He only has Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor to call upon at the moment.
