With Premier League football guaranteed at Craven Cottage for another campaign next season, Fulham boss Martin Jol has already begun planning his potential summer acquisitions.

The Cottagers are lining up a double capture of Matthew Lowton from Aston Villa and goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg of AS Roma, says the Daily Mail.

Lowton (pictured) has been a consistent performer for Villa in their season of struggle, and his availability may well depend on the Villains future in the top flight.

The 23-year-old scored his own goal of the season contender in an away victory recently at Stoke, and has shown his versatility throughout the year as a right-back or central defender.

Jol is willing to spend £5m to capture the services of the former Sheffield United youngster.

With the Dutchman set to allow David Stockdale to leave after a successful loan spell with Hull, he wants to revisit a longer-term target in Stekelenburg.

The Dutch goalkeeper nearly completed a move to west London on transfer deadline day, but it fell through.  AS Roma value the former Ajax stopper at £5m.
