Suarez Liverpool exit ruled out by Rodgers

Liverpool star striker Luis Suarez will be staying at the club in the summer, manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed.

The Uruguayan put in another magnificent individual performance on Saturday evening, as he bagged his second hat-trick of the Premier League season in the Reds 4-0 victory away at Wigan Athletic.

The triple strike means Suarez (pictured) has now scored six times in his last four competitive club games, and takes his tally to 21 in the Premier League, above Robin van Persie to the top of the Golden Boot race.

After the game, Rodgers stated that the latest talk over Suarez’s future, as he is closely being monitored by long-time admirers PSG and Juventus, is just speculation in the press.

“I don’t have any issues with Luis in that manner, I sit here with great confidence that he’ll stay.

“Of course there will be interest in top players and he’s a world class player, but I speak regularly with Luis and we had a good meeting with his agent a couple of weeks ago and he expressed from his perspective as well how happy he is.”

Liverpool have no chance of winning any silverware this season, but have now won three of their last six Premier League games by at least four goals.

They sit seventh with 42 points, three points behind Merseyside rivals Everton, ahead of a clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield next Sunday.
