Lloris wary of Liverpool threat

Spurs' first choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has sent out a warning to his team-mates that the season is not over, despite their excellent recent run of form, Sky Sports reports.

Tottenham haven’t lost in the league since 9 December away at Everton, and only suffered one defeat in 2013 – which was a surprising FA Cup exit at Leeds United in late January.

Their top four hopes were boosted by Sunday’s 2-1 triumph over bitter rivals Arsenal in the north London derby.

The result moved the Lilywhites seven points clear of their neighbours, but Lloris (pictured) admits the threat from Sunday’s opponents in Liverpool has to be respected.

He said: “The season is not finished.  There are 10 games to go so we have to keep concentration and be focused on the end of the season.

“Of course it’s better to be in this position than Arsenal although we have to keep a lucidity of the situation.

“Liverpool are playing maybe the best football in the Premier League at this moment.  They proved that in their last game against Wigan.  It will be a very difficult game but very exciting game in Anfield.”

The Frenchman has made 23 appearances in all competitions since switching to White Hart Lane from France on the summer deadline day for over £8m.

The ex-Lyon stopper has displaced Brad Friedel as Tottenham’s regular Premier League choice since November, although Friedel is likely to be chosen for tonight's UEFA Europa League tie with Serie A giants Inter Milan.
