The Daily Express is reporting Arsenal’s desire to cash in on Gervinho, who has failed to cement a regular place in the Gunners’ first team.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are preparing to test Arsene Wenger’s resolve with a £12m offer, which would be a profit on the £10.8m fee Arsenal themselves paid to Lille two years ago.

The UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists are showing some strong financial power, having acquired the services of Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan, and brought Didier Drogba back to the European game from Shanghai Shenhua in the January transfer window.

Gervinho (pictured) scored the second goal in Arsenal’s recent 2-0 Premier League success away at Swansea City, his first strike since returning from international duty at the African Cup of Nations.

The 25-year-old has featured 42 times in the Premier League for the north Londoners, scoring eight times.

If he moved to Istanbul, Gervinho would join fellow Ivorian compatriots Drogba and ex-Gunner Emmanuel Eboue.

Gala will travel to Real Madrid for their Champions League quarter-final first leg next Wednesday.
