On-loan Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (pictured) is happy to stay on loan again next season at his current temporary club, Atletico Madrid.

According to Sky Sports, the young Belgian, who is contracted until 2016 at Stamford Bridge, would prefer to continue his development in La Liga next season.

He was signed for the Blues by Andre Villas-Boas from KRC Genk in the summer of 2011, but was loaned out immediately to Atletico and has not made a senior appearance yet for his parent club.

Chelsea see the 21-year-old as part of their future, and as a long-term replacement for Petr Cech, who has held the No. 1 jersey since arriving from French side Rennes in 2004.  Cech turns 31 in May.

Courtois said: “I am happy; I like my life here, my team-mates. It is not just my decision; Chelsea and Atletico also have to talk. But everyone knows I like it here and, if I can, I want to stay.”

Atletico were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League by Rubin Kazan in the round of 32, and sit in third position in La Liga.
