Stuart Pearce’s England Under-21 stars recorded another fine result on Thursday night, beating Romania 3-0 at Adams Park in Wycombe.

It means the squad have now won eight successive matches, which is a new record.

As the Daily Mail understands, it was Wilfried Zaha (pictured) who stole the limelight with another impressive performance.

The Manchester United-bound winger scored his first goal for the Under-21s, beating several defenders before curling home.

Liverpool’s Jonjo Shelvey chipped in with two assists.  His delightful cross on the hour mark found Anfield colleague Jack Robinson, who volleyed home his debut goal for the side.

Nathan Delfouneso put the seal on a commanding evening in Buckinghamshire with a late third.

The only downer on an excellent night for Pearce was Henri Lansbury withdrawal after just two minutes, as he came off worse in a challenge with goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu.

England will play Israel, Italy and Norway in the group stages for this summer’s European Championships.
