European governing body UEFA have cut the prices of the tickets for this season’s Champions League final, Eurosport understands.
The main club football showpiece (trophy pictured), which will take place at Wembley on Saturday May 25, will see fans be able to attend the game at a much cheaper price than two years ago, when England’s national stadium last hosted the event.
16,800 tickets will be available for £60 each. In 2011, the ‘category four’ tickets were £150 plus and administration charge of £26.
200 youth packages will be made available for 200 children to attend the global spectacle, accompanied by an adult.
These packages will also be priced at £60 per person. 59,000 tickets will be made available to fans of the finalists through the official UEFA website, with another 27,000 tickets being passed around between the media, commercial sponsors of the Champions League such as Ford and Mastercard, and other European associations.
UEFA president Michel Platini has admitted prices for the final two years ago were “a mistake.”
