LA Galaxy keen to land Lampard

Reigning Major League Soccer champions Los Angeles Galaxy are keen to land Frank Lampard (pictured) once his contract expires in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

Chelsea’s lack of offering their legendary midfielder a new deal to stay at Stamford Bridge could cost them, with the Galaxy keen to offer him a hefty wage package, plus have the right to play on loan for a European club during the American off-season.

The 34-year-old has been warned by England manager Roy Hodgson that if he decides to join the likes of Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane in LA, his international prospects will be damaged.

Galaxy’s deal would also include a rent-free home in the Beverly Hills region and free flights between the US and the UK.

He is due to marry the ITV entertainment presenter Christine Bleakley later on this year.

Lampard took his season’s tally to 13 strikes, and made it 199 Chelsea career goals in their 4-0 victory over Brentford in the FA Cup fourth round replay on Sunday lunchtime.
