Hooper linked with summer Tottenham move

The Daily Mail understands Gary Hooper is ready to leave Celtic in the summer, but his preferred move would be a switch to Tottenham.

Hooper was the subject of five bids from Norwich City during the most recent January transfer window, but all offers were rejected by Neil Lennon.

However, the 25-year-old hasn’t signed a new deal at Parkhead despite a contract offer having been on the table for a number of months.

He is keen to strengthen his international credentials with England, at a time when Danny Welbeck isn’t playing regularly, Andy Carroll is struggling with fitness and Peter Crouch is not being considered by Roy Hodgson after refusing to be on the standby list for Euro 2012.

Hooper (pictured) has scored an impressive 23 goals for the Bhoys this season, with another SPL title virtually in the bag.

He has netted 74 times in 121 games since moving to Scotland from Scunthorpe United three seasons ago.

Hooper was on Tottenham’s books as a youngster, but was released by the club in 2002.
