Brazil name Chelsea trio for England friendly

BBC Sport reports Chelsea’s Brazilian contingent of Oscar, Ramires and David Luiz have all been selected by new Brazil manager and former Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari for the international friendly with England next month.

The friendly, which is being played on February 6 to mark the 150th anniversary celebrations of the FA, will be the first of two meetings between the sides in 2013. The sides will play a reverse fixture in June.

Scolari (pictured) has chosen 20 players to represent the South Americans, who will host the World Cup in 2014. He succeeded Mano Menezes in December after Brazil failed to win Olympic gold in London last summer.

QPR’s goalkeeper Julio Cesar has been selected alongside the three from Stamford Bridge, but there is no place for the likes of Kaka and Leandro Damiao.

Former FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, who now plays his trade with Atletico Mineiro in the Brazilian league, has been called up along with Paris Saint-Germain’s recent acquisition Lucas Moura, the Barcelona pair of Adriano and Daniel Alves, and the exciting talent of Santos sensation Neymar.

Brazil squad for friendly with England on 6 February:
