October monthly review with talkSPORT

Once again the football calendar didn’t disappoint during October with entertainment and talking points coming from all angles of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and international matches being played throughout the month.
We’ve had diving controversies, amazing comebacks and Twitter gaffs, all of which were duly reported by the football boffins at talkSPORT.
So, let's round-up the best bits from the footballing world during October.
1. The start of the month arrived with the news that prize jester (and let’s not forget, for a while classy midfielder) Jimmy Bullard was retiring from the game.
As a man that provided so much entertainment both on and off the pitch, it’d be rude not to take a look at his best moments.

2. Who can honestly say they haven’t scoured YouTube for ‘fail’ videos and sporting gaffes and bloopers? We’re no exception to this either, which is why we especially enjoyed this good ‘ol compilation video of tear jerking nut shots in sport.
3. Whilst the international football break often leaves most football fans twiddling their thumbs at the weekend with no live action or animated musings of the Soccer Saturday gang, October provided some scintillating and surprise matches.
This included the remarkable comeback Sweden produced (players celebrating pictured), as they found themselves 4-0 down with 30 minutes to go only to record a 4-4 draw against a usually resilient German team. This prompted talkSPORT to produce a definitive list of the greatest international comebacks of all time
4. It seems that not a month goes by without a footballer getting into a spot of bother off the pitch (usually it’s Mario Balotelli!)
This month was no exception with football's favourite social media tool Twitter, providing a hot talking point throughout October after Ashley Cole unwisely decided to blast the FA to his 500k+ followers.
The chaps at talkSPORT took a look back at football's most infamous Twitter bloopers and produced a ’10 Social Media Commandments’ to help these loveable rogues stay out of future bother.
5. Danny Welbeck, Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Gareth Bale and more bizarrely Phil Neville all threw their hats into the ring for ‘Dive of the Month.’
However after much deliberation and consideration, it could only go to one man and that was.....Felix Baumgartner, who took one giant leap for mankind and thrill seekers everywhere when he threw himself from the edge of space, freefalling for just over 4 minutes and breaking the speed of sound on the way down – an impressive feat I’m sure you’ll agree.
What wasn’t reported however was that Baumgartner was also the last man to ever see the football Charlie Adam launched into orbit when he missed that penalty against Cardiff in the Carling Cup final in March.
BONUS – We couldn’t let October and Halloween pass us by without taking a look at the scary goings on the Premier League had to offer – Coming to a cinema near you soon, footballers starring in horror's best remakes.
