September Monthly Review with talkSPORT

With the Premier League season well and truly underway, the first few rounds of matches certainly haven’t been without incident and definitely not disappointed fans of the beautiful game.
West Brom and Everton have started strongly whilst QPR, despite their heavy pre-season investment have yet to register a win and currently prop up the table as we go into the international break.
Controversial red cards have also provided the other talking point as have disgraceful acts of diving, not to mention Brendan Rodgers ‘David Brent-esque’ management style in the new Being: Liverpool documentary.

These mistakes are made all the more better when it’s a player considered rather good, as was the case when Cristiano Ronaldo was left red-faced after missing an open goal against Rayo Vallecano recently.
Others like Ryan Giggs, Kenny Dalglish and Freddie Ljungberg have missed open goals in the past. See this wide collection here.
4. September also saw the eagerly anticipated QPR v Chelsea match.
With this in mind, talkSPORT looks at some of the individual grudge matches that have marked English football down the years including Roy Keane vs. Patrick Vieira and many more.
5. Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas might have spearheaded a shock victory recently at Old Trafford but he also wanted to share his ideas that the north Londoners could become Premier League title contenders.
Recently, he tried to promote his ideology of Spurs becoming Premier League contenders to the uncompromising entrepreneurs from the hit BBC TV show Dragons' Den.  The result was modest to say the least for AVB...
