Tottenham finally secure Adebayor permanent signature

Tottenham Hotspur have finally secured the permanent signing of Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
The 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan in North London, has signed for £5m after Spurs and Manchester City finally agreed on the terms of a pay-off, which had stalled the move for the last month.
After signing on permanently, Adebayor tweeted: “I’m back!!!! Tottenham here I come!! I’m hungry for goals…Get ready.”
Adebayor moved to Manchester City for £25m from Arsenal under the management of Mark Hughes in 2009 but fell out of favour when Roberto Mancini arrived and has spent the last 18 months on loan at Real Madrid and at White Hart Lane respectively.
He scored 18 goals on loan last season and finally solves an major issue for Andre Villas-Boas, as he only had Jermain Defoe and Harry Kane on his striking roster for last weekend’s Premier League trip to Newcastle.
Spurs have also enquired about the availability of Manchester City winger Adam Johnson, who has been told by Mancini that he can leave Eastlands.
