Destination West London for Moses

Chelsea’s summer spending has reached a total of over £70m, after agreeing a fee with Wigan Athletic for 21-year-old winger Victor Moses.
Moses, who represents Nigeria at international level, will move to Stamford Bridge after the Lactics accepted a fifth bid from the current Premier League leaders, which is thought to be in the region of £9m.
A Wigan club statement revealed: “The club can confirm that after four unsuccessful bids from Chelsea for Victor Moses, a fifth bid has today finally met the valuation and terms set by Wigan Athletic and been accepted.”
The former Crystal Palace player, who scored six goals in the Premier League last season, played against his new club last Sunday, impressing in a 2-0 defeat for Roberto Martinez’s side.
A sell-on clause will see Palace receive some of the agreed fee, who sold him to Wigan in January 2010 for £2.5m.
Chelsea have already brought in attacking midfielders Oscar, Eden Hazard and Marko Marin this summer and are close to capturing the Marseille defender, Cesar Azpilicueta for £7m.
Martinez was keen on keeping Moses within his squad but understands why the club have accepted this offer from the Champions League holders.
“You will get all sorts of speculation and talk but the reality is every player has a valuation.
“If a club matches that valuation, then maybe you have to sit down with the player and there is a decision to be made.”
