Bassong becomes a Canary

Chris Hughton has reacted quickly to Norwich’s opening day nightmare at Craven Cottage.
He has brought in Cameroon international defender Sebastien Bassong.
The 26-year-old has moved to the Canaries from Tottenham Hotspur on an undisclosed transfer fee.
He spent six months on loan at Wolves last season and worked under Hughton at Newcastle United.
Hughton told the Norwich official website: “Sebastien is a player that I have known well since my time at Newcastle and I’m delighted to have brought in someone with the Premier League experience he has got.”
He will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s Premier League match with QPR at Carrow Road, as both sides look to recover from 5-0 maulings on the opening day.
Hughton has already brought in defenders Steven Whittaker, Michael Turner and Javier Garrido this summer.
He is also ready to bid for Blackburn second choice goalkeeper Mark Bunn, who has reportedly handed in a transfer request at Ewood Park.
