Arsenal and Manchester United agree a fee for Van Persie

Manchester United have agreed a fee with Arsenal for their Dutch ace Robin van Persie.
The 29-year-old, who revealed last month that he wouldn't be signing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, was out of contract next summer.
The fee is reported to be in the region of £24m. The PFA Players Player of the Year and Golden Boot winner from last season will travel to Manchester to agree terms and pass a routine medical in the next 48 hours.
Van Persie scored 30 times in the Premier League last season and would form a formidable strike partnership with Wayne Rooney ahead of Monday's Premier League opener for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, away at Everton.
He cost Arsenal £2.75m from Feyenoord in the summer of 2004 and scored twice against the Red Devils last season.
United have held off interest from rivals Manchester City and Serie A champions Juventus for his services.
Should the move go through, he will become the first player to move from the Gunners to the Theatre of Dreams since Viv Anderson in the 1980s.
United posted a statement on their website which read: "Manchester United is pleased to announce it has reached agreement with Arsenal Football Club for the transfer of Robin van Persie."
The deal is subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms. A further announcement will be made in due course."
Van Persie will join Nick Powell and Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa as new arrivals at Old Trafford this summer.
