ESPN and Sky Sports make first televised Premier League picks

Sky Sports and ESPN have announced the first set of live televised fixtures for the 2012/13 Premier League season.
ESPN will begin their final season broadcasting live Premier League action with the first UK match of the campaign, as Newcastle United face Tottenham Hotspur at 5.30pm on Saturday 18th August.
As expected, defending champions Manchester City open up on Super Sunday with their home fixture against newly promoted Southampton. The match at the Etihad Stadium kicks off at 4pm.
That is part of a double bill on 19th August, following Wigan Athletic’s clash with Chelsea at 1.30pm.
The first Monday Night Football of the season sees Manchester United’s tricky start at Goodison Park to play Everton, kicking-off at 8pm.
In total, 53 matches have been selected by the two corporations; 42 live games from Sky and 11 confirmed by ESPN until the end of November 2012, with all the big showdowns and top derbies covered.
